Richard Hugh Ferrell, 71, of Columbus, Ohio passed away Wednesday,
June 13, 2001.
He was born January 15, 1930 in Grantsville, W.Va.
Survived by wife of 48 years, Shirley; daughters, Anne (Michael) Gorman
and Cynthia Ferrell Clemens and special friend, Dave Edwards; grandchildren,
Matthew, Marcus and Daniel Gorman, Jessica and Benjamin Clemens; brothers,
Lewis and William (Christina) Ferrell; brother-in-law, Jim (Janet) Heilmeier;
4 nephews and their families.
He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Louise (Stump) and
his sister Virginia Heilmeier.
Graduate of Akron Central High School, 1948, University of Akron (B.S.
Business Administration), 1953. Member Phi Sigma Kappa, The Ohio State
University College of Law, 1958. First Lieutenant in the Army of the United
States. Employed by Ohio Attorney General Department of Liquor Control,
1959-62. Private law practice, with close friend, James V. Rose, 1963-67,
Legal Aid and Defender Society, 1969-74, Assistant City Prosecutor for
the City of Columbus, 1974-77, The City Prosecutor for the City of Columbus,
1977, Judge, Franklin County Municipal Court, 1978-1995, Magistrate of
Upper Arlington Mayor's Court, 1996-current, Magistrate of Bexley Mayor's
Court, 1997-current.
