Harold "Dick" Ullum of Grantsville (pictured left) is Calhoun's "Democrat of the Year." Ullum was recognized at the annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner in Charleston for his contribution to the Democrat party. "I believe Democrats hold close to the foundations of democracy," he said. "Certainly the party has represented working-class Americans.
Ullum has been a registered Democrat since age 18. Besides several business interests, he is the district manager of the Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights, whose office is located in Parkersburg. |
