Calhoun Banks and Frame Oilfield Services are joining efforts in a Hurricane Relief project.
"We have obtained a tractor trailer and our goal is to fill it up with supplies needed in the Louisiana and Mississippi area," said Bruce Fitzwater of the Glenville branch of Calhoun Banks.
The Food Bank of Central Louisiana in Alexandria, LA say they have approximately 10,000 evacuees at this time and they are expecting another 10,000 to 15,000 more.
The food bank said they would take whatever is available, but suggested a list of specific items needed, including, personal hygiene items such as toothpaste and brushes, deodorant, toilet paper, etc. Individual snacks such as granola bars, breakfast bars, beef jerky, peanut butter and crackers, canned meals such as beef stew and chili. Plates, bowls, cups and utensils.
Items may be dropped off at any Calhoun Bank location. For more information call Bruce Fitzwater at Calhoun Banks 462-5051 or 354-0220. |
