Police managed to flesh out a flasher a week after he allegedly exposed himself at the Spencer Wal-Mart.
"We tracked him down," said Spencer Police Chief Gary Williams of a Calhoun County man charged with exposing himself to a female clerk while she was ringing up his merchandise.
Eric D. Marks, 33, of Orma entered a no contest plea to a misdemeanor charge of indecent exposure last Thursday, one week after police said he exposed himself.
Marks appeared before Roane Magistrate Denver Gandee Jr. and was fined $25 and ordered to pay an additional $153.50 in court costs. The maximum penalty for the crime is a $250 fine plus court costs and 90 days in jail.
The incident, which occurred just before 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4, was captured on tape on one of the store's security cameras.
The man shown on the security camera tape approached the cash register with a shopping cart loaded with merchandise and began exposing himself as the clerk starting ringing up his purchase.
The clerk apparently did not notice what the man was doing until she had the merchandise totaled and turned to him for payment. At the same time she began shielding her eyes.
The man presented a food stamp card for payment. He reportedly continued to expose himself as he left the store with his merchandise.
Williams said Marks has not been identified as a suspect in a similar incident at another business last January.
