4-H All Stars is a group of specially selected members and leaders who provide outstanding service to the WV 4-H Program, "the cream of the crop."
It is intended to furnish recognition, inspiration and encouragement to 4-H members to continue their involvement and commitment to the program.
To be chosen for a 4-H All Star means you are approaching or have reached maturity in 4-H. To be considered to enter the Alpha chapter you have to be at least 18 years of age, an active member of 4-H, received a charting pin and attended state 4-H camp.
The motto of the All Stars is "Service." Service is vital to the 4-H program. All Stars are expected to remain active in their community, county and on the state level of the 4-H program.
In this county, there are many All Stars, including one new inductee, Hannah Conley. Hannah was inducted at Alpha I State Camp on July 12, 2005 in Jackson's Mill.
Hannah has been a member of 4-H for 9 years in Calhoun County. She has held every office in her local community club. She has completed nine projects in 4-H, with three Best of Show. She received Spirit of Camp at county camp in 2004. She was chief of her tribe in 2003. She has organized the Camp Meditations for 2 years at county camp.
Hannah has served as the Camp Bank for the last two years at camp. Hannah has attended three state camps. She has many hours in volunteer work within her community. She was part of the Calhoun 4-H Pride Team for three years. She was 4-H Member of the Year in 2001. Hannah is very active in her church and is involved with the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
She is also involved with the West Virginia Molasses Festival, assisting with meal preparation and serving. The West Virginia Extension Office is very proud of Hannah Conley for all of her hard work in
