The Town Hall Building Committee began work on its second phase - financing.
According to committee chairman Frank Venezia, the committee will begin the
process of formulating building plans to present to various entities in an
effort to get financing for the project.
The construction of the new building is projected to be $270,000.
The committee is charged with getting a new town hall built for the Town of
Grantsville.
Thus far the committee has hired an architectural firm - Cerrone and
Associates of Wheeling - and approved a plan for the building.
Copies of the
plan are now available at city hall and soon should be available at the main
office of Calhoun Banks in Grantsville and at the Calhoun Committee on
Aging.
The committee also discussed private donations and demolition plans for the
old town hall.
No action was taken on either item and they will be continued
at the committee's next meeting on August 29 at 7 p.m. in the Little
Courtroom at the Calhoun County Courthouse.
