Delma G. Deems Dawson, 78, of Parkersburg, West Virginia passed away July 21, 2005 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was born August 26, 1926 in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Otta J. Deems and Opal J. Deems Miller. On December 20, 1946 she married Glen Dawson.
Delma worked at Rubber Fabricators in Grantsville for 11 years. She was also an employee of the Calhoun County Bank, Grantsville for 16 years, and of the Huntington Bank of Parkersburg for 13 years. She was a lifelong member of Bryner Chapel United Methodist Church at Joker and taught Sunday School there for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Glen Dawson; a sister, Velma Deems Dillard and her husband Warren; sisters in law, Edna Mason and her husband Myron; Carolyn Elza and her husband James; a brother in law, John Dawson and his wife Mamie. Also surviving are 11 nieces and nephews, Stanley Dillard, Sherry Dillard Eugenio, Sandra Dawson Sullivan, Rick Dawson, Stephanie Mason McNeil, Diatra Mason Stewart, Brian Mason, Melissa Mason Sharrock, Jessica Elza Porter, Cara Elza Lyons, Peter Elza, and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 24 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Interment will be in the Bryner Chapel Cemetery at Joker.
