Local officials and employees worked very hard to get projects completed at Wayne Underwood Field the past week or so.
Their efforts are praised in this Letter to the Editor:
Dear Editor,
I'd like to thank the Town of Grantsville employees who worked so hard to ensure that Calhoun County met the deadline for completing the required work for the Wayne Underwood Field grant.
Eric Webb, Pat Starkey, Tommy Marks, Alan Bell and especially, Ralph Campbell worked very hard to get the work done on time. Special thanks also needs to go to Grantsville resident Doug Stull, who donated his time and use of his equipment on the project. Mayor Blankenship did a great deal to make sure things got done and loose ends tied up on the project.
This project has had some problems along the way, and there was some miscommunication that complicated the task. But thanks to everyone working together, the project was completed in time to meet the final deadline. This meant that the county did not have to return the grant funding to the Sisters of St. Joseph Foundation.
I realize that town employees went out of their way to complete the water and sewer work while doing their regular jobs as well. Their efforts are greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Diane Ludwig
