Pat Shaw, Tusky's wife has the beautiful flowerbed, not Mary. The Creston news writer knew better but wrote the wrong name last time. Sorry about that.

Hunter F. Pell's pear tree has the best crop it has borne in years. It is an early pear, the only one like that in the area.

A number of big bucks, including at least one 10 point have been seen in the velvet.

Also at Western Hills is Vandall Meadows. Among those visiting him Sunday evening was Olga Ferrell of Brooksville. Nancy is way ahead of her last hip surgery on her road to recovery. She wanted everyone to know that she was thankful for all the prayers, flowers, cards and visitors. Some nice fish have been harvested recently from the Little Kanawha both locally and down at the Wells Lock below Elizabeth.

Ida Wager attended postmaster's training in Clarksburg one day last week.

Anna Engelke and the FunChester group have been vacationing at a beach in Massachusetts. They all report having a great time.

Local residents have been concerned about the recent terror attacks in London as some feel these were a test run for worse moves in this country as there were connections. To make matters worse the explosives likely came from Bosnia where the former first couple backed the Muslim government that is tied to the terror groups but that side offered bigger profits in the drug and white slave trades for those who were well connected. On top of that a general in the Chinese communist Peoples Liberation Army stated that if America did not appease them they would send nuclear warheads our way on the rockets that were built with technology given in exchange for campaign contributions.

With high oil and natural gas the same communist government is now trying to purchase one of America's major oil companies. Now wouldn't that be nice, they could take our oil over there to build and the operate the war weapons to destroy us. That would be in the same league as the junk dealers who were selling the Japs scrap metal during World War II.

Progress is being made on the slide repair down near the old Tom Alec Hopkins place as the lagging is being put between the piling, etc. Over the weekend someone backed a vehicle almost over the bank near there.

M. C. Pursley was attending to business in Creston.

Local residents are looking forward to the Wirt County Fair.

Charles Russell's Direct Tee Vee bill arrived late. It seems that even with 9 digit zip codes the letter went to Creston Iowa where it had been delivered to a post office box.

Amanda Tingler was visiting Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Wager and then they all went to the Abel & McCracken family reunion on Lost Run Road near Grafton.

Dorothy Graham is a patient in a Parkersburg hospital undergoing tests. While it was first surmised that she might have cancer it was determined that a blood vessel going to one kidney was blocked (and might have been for years) and a stint was inserted. She is now scheduled to come home soon.
