Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center honored Mrs. Geraldine Hupp with a retirement party on Friday, June 24.
Geraldine has worked in the medical field since 1968 when she joined Calhoun General Hospital as an aide. After a few years, Geraldine decided to further her education and graduated from Parkersburg Community College as a Registered Nurse in 1976.
While working at Calhoun General, Geraldine served in several different capacities including Director of Nursing. In 1995, Geraldine joined the staff of Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center. At the time of her retirement, she held the position of RN-Clinic Coordinator.
Geraldine is the wife of Doyle Hupp, they have two sons - Doyle Hupp, Jr. and his wife Shirley have three children, Chastity, Zachary and Katie. Russell and his wife Regina have two children, Darris and Chelsea.
Geraldine is the new great-grandmother of Kason, born March 16, 2005. Geraldine asks that everyone keep Kason in their prayers as he is awaiting a small bowel transplant.
Geraldine says it has been a pleasure to serve the community she calls home. She would like to encourage anyone who might be interested in going into the field of nursing because the rewards are innumerable.
Geraldine is going to miss her patients and co-workers but is looking forward to this new chapter of her life.
The staff at Minnie Hamilton would like to say thank you to Geraldine for 37 years service to the people of Calhoun County.
