Phase One of the Grantsville Town Hall Building Committee is complete, according to chairperson Frank Venezia.
The results - the building plan for the proposed $270,000 Grantsville Town Hall - will be
on display at the Grantsville Town Council meeting next Tuesday.
The public is invited to look at the drawings.
During Phase One the Grantsville Town Hall Building Committee formulated a
plan, selected an architecture firm - Cerrone and Associates of Wheeling -
and decided on a building plan that it felt would best suit the community.
The building, which will be about 1,200 square feet with a working garage
area underneath, will set on the spot the current town hall is now on
following site preparation and building orientation, according to committee member Gaylen Duskey.
With Phase One complete the committee will turn its attention to Phase Two, the demolition and removal of the current town
hall.
The other part will deal with obtaining local financing to use toward
matching funds if needed.
Currently, the committee has raised about $8,000 for the building fund.
