Sarah Holt was recently named as the new Program and Development Specialist for the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation (PACF). She will be assisting the Little Kanawha Area Community Foundation as part of her duties.
Holt graduated cum laude from Marietta College in May of 2005, and came on board at the PACF in June. Sarah will be responsible for the affiliate foundations, Mason County Community Foundation and Little Kanawha Area Community Foundation.
She will also help administer grants and scholarships for the whole PACF service area, which includes the counties of Wood, Wirt, Calhoun, Ritchie, Doddridge, Gilmer, Pleasants, Roane, Jackson, and Mason in West Virginia and Washington County, Ohio.
"I am looking forward to beginning work with the affiliate organizations and my service communities," Holt said. "I believe that building community foundations represents a great opportunity for local citizens to make a permanent difference for the causes they care about most. I am excited that I get to help in every way possible."
Holt will be assisting the Little Kanawha Area board members in helping to create awareness of LKACF within the counties. She is available to speak to local clubs and organizations about LKACF, how to build endowment funds, and to help local citizens explore the charitable options that LKACF offers.
She will be a local contact for LKACF for the purpose of providing information about its hopes as a grant maker, and about the presently available grant making programs that are available by virtue of LKACF's affiliation with PACF. Her main role is to support the work of the local volunteers and to be a resource for local citizens. Her toll free office number is 1-866-428-4438.
According to Judy Sjostedt, PACF executive director, "Sarah is on board specifically to aid the Mason County Community Foundation and the Little Kanawha Area Foundation Boards, in their development as community foundation affiliates in their respective counties. Sarah has a great background, having been an intern in the marketing department at St. Joseph's Hospital and is eager to be of service to the MCCF and LKACF communities."
