CHARLESTON MAN KILLS MOM'S NEW HUSBAND - A Charleston man has been charged with killing his mother's new husband. Donte Garrett grabbed his baby out of the man's arms and then shot him several times.
A neighbor says Wayne McCants had been walking with the baby while two women argued in his Kanawha City apartment.
Police said Garrett ran into another apartment after he shot McCants, offering no resistance when they arrested him.
Officers said McCants had been married to Garrett's mother about a week.
police have not released a motive for the shooting.
DOMESTIC STABBING ON CHARLESTON'S WEST SIDE -
A Charleston man has been charged in a stabbing on the West Side.
Elbert Banks, 41, was taken into custody.
Lt. C.E. Thompson of the Charleston Police Department said the incident, which occurred on Sixth Street, appeared to be domestic-related. The victim sustained a cut on the arm.
