There are 22 days left on an eBay auction of the old Calhoun County High School.

So far, there are a few bidders, with a minimum bid of $85,000.

The eBay description of the building:

Old Calhoun County High School. Located on 2-Acres of land in Grantsville, Calhoun County, West Virginia. Three-story building constructed of native hand cut Arnoldsburg Sandstone. Building was constructed in 1921 - 1925. Walls are brick. Outside walls are covered with 7" stone veneer. Inside walls are covered with 1" plaster. The main building is basement, first floor, and second floor of approximately 26,000 sq. ft. The main building is covered outside with 7" thick hand cut stone weighing approximately 600 tons.

~Additional Buildings~ Gymnasium 87' x 67' floor has been partially removed. 6 banking boards, 2 glass, 4 practice. 2 natural gas fired heating and air condition units that were working when school was closed in June 1998. The main electrical boxes both buildings are 250-V AC or DC - 600-V Square D Boxes, additional boxes throughout buildings. The buildings are asbestos free, testing was performed by Asbestos Testing - Charleston, WV March 2005. Real estate taxes are $700 per year. There is approximately $40,000 worth of 2"x14' lumber that could be salvaged if buildings were dismantled, also lots of steel-salvage value at .50 per pound.
