| Carl E. Allen, 81, of Parkersburg passed away June 9, 2005, at the Arbors at Marietta.
He was born June 22, 1923, in Calhoun County, W.Va., a son of the late Darley and Effie Allen. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II, and he was a member of the Christian Baptist on Nicolette Road.
He is survived by one daughter, Mary L. Collins; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Orris and Orville; and one sister, Francis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret McPeek Allen; two sons, Neal and Mack; two brothers, Jeff and Dennis; one sister, June; and two half brothers, Bernard and Virgil Hughes.
Services will be noon Saturday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Reva Hupp officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
