CALHOUN MAN WITH 2,400 ROUNDS - (Associated Press) A Calhoun County man wearing about 100 rounds of ammunition in belts around his body and more than 2,300 rounds of ammunition in his vehicle has been accused of walking into a West Virginia State Police detachment and trying to pull a gun on an officer.
Bucky Dale Arthur, 49, of Mt. Zion was charged Sunday with one count each of attempted murder of a police officer and wanton endangerment following the incident, said state police dispatcher B.E. Workman.
SHOOTER WILL BE RETURNED TO KY - A man charged in a triple shooting in Kentucky that killed two people and injured another this past weekend has waived extradition in a Williamson courtroom.
Thirty-year-old Danny Thomas of Stone, Kentucky was charged Sunday in West Virginia with being a fugitive from justice, assault on a police officer and battery on a police officer. He also has been charged in Pike County, Kentucky, with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.
Police were called to a home in Turkey Run, Kentucky, at 5:30 p.m. Saturday by Robert McComas, who told them he and two others had been shot.
Police found the bodies of McComas' mother, Susan McComas, and his father, Michael McComas, outside the home.
Robert McComas had been shot in the arm.
LOGAN WOMAN'S BODY STUFFED IN CAR - Logan County Sheriff Eddie Hunter says 41-year-old Lisa Brennan's body was found last night in the trunk of a car that was parked on her family's property.
Her husband, William Brennan, III, was arrested and charged with murder.
Police didn't release a motive, with reports indicating she was likely shot.
WEST SIDE SHOOTER PLEADS GUILTY - Robert Haines was sentenced to life in prison with mercy for a West Side, Charleston murder. He has a chance for parole eligibility after 15 years.
Haines fatally shot 62-year-old Tom Christian of Charleston.
Christian was shot just inside the front door of his West Side apartment in February 2004.
