"We're pleased with the results on our report card, but we realize we've got work to do," said Greg Cartwright, Director of Curriculum for Calhoun Schools.
Calhoun parents have received a copy of the West Virginia Report Card, issued for each county by the State Department of Education.
The Report Card indicates that all county schools, Calhoun Middle-High School, Pleasant Hill Elementary and Arnoldsburg Elementary, met Average Yearly Progress.
"This was the first year the report was based on WesTest," said Cartwright.
The accountability report has sub-groups that cover ethic groups. students with disabilities and the economically disadvantaged.
Several of the accountability areas are yet to be included for Calhoun.
Only one shortcoming was noted, a gap where Arnoldsburg students in a sub-group defined by "free and reduced lunch" did not meet Average Yearly progress in reading.
The sub-group alludes to students from low-income families.
The Report Card also gives information of the educational levels of teachers.
