WV Governor Joe Manchin will proclaim June 2005 as West Virginia Mountain Bike Month at a ceremony at the state Capital in Charleston WV on Monday, June 6, 2005 at 11 a.m.
The public is invited to attend the announcement at the Governor's Reception Room.
The WV State Legislature first approved June as WV Mountain Bike Month via resolution in 2003, and then furthered the State's support of mountain biking by permanently proclaiming June as Mountain Bike Month in 2004, directing the Governor to support and publicize the event each year.
This support, plus the varied and extensive trail systems WV has to offer, helped WV earn IMBA's "A" rating in 2004.
Mountain bikers from all over the state are expected to attend. |
