"STONE COLD" MURDER VICTIMS BEING LAID TO REST - Detroit Drug Connection Sought

(05/27/2005)
Leads are pouring into the Huntington Police Department, the agency is trying to solve the "stone cold killings" of four teens following prom night activities.

Huntington Police Capt. Steve Hall said yesterday that no arrests have been made, but detectives continue testing some evidence connected to the fatal shootings and researching "street names" of possible Detroit suspects.

Police seem to think the killings are linked to Detroit connections, indicating the cold-blooded murders could be linked to a drug deal gone bad.

Police still believe their "strongest theory" into Sunday's killings indicates that Ward, who lived at the Charleston Avenue crime scene, might have been the target of violence from Detroit, and that other victims were killed to eliminate witnesses.

Yesterday's press conference took place as family and friends have been gathering for funerals for the victims.

The shootings have gained national attention since taking place about 4:30 a.m. Sunday. In addition to Poston, the victims included Donté Ward, 19, of Huntington; Eddrick Clark, 18, of South Point, Ohio, and Michael Dillon, 17, of Huntington.
