Calhoun County High School has named Jason Poling, Andrew Prusack and Cynthia Wildfire as valedictorians and Eli Walker as salutatorian for the Class of 2005.
The four students will be recognized during graduation exercises tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. at CM-HS.
VALEDICTORIAN JASON POLING (pictured left) - Jason is the son of Marvin and Janet Poling of Grantsville. He has been involved in the National Honor Society, HSTA, Mu Alpha Theta, Envirothon, SCORES, and Know Your State Government Day during his four years in high school.
He will be attending Glenville State College majoring in chemistry.
VALEDICTORIAN PHILLIP ANDREW PRUSACK(pictured left)- Andrew is the son of David and Sheryl Prusack of Big Bend. He is the vice president of his senior class, treasurer of the National Honor Society and vice president of HSTA. He is listed in Who's Who Among High School Students and the National Honor Roll.
Andrew is a member of HSTA, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and a math fair participant. He also volunteers work for church and has documented one hundred hours of community service in HSTA.
Andrew plans to attend Glenville State College or Davis and Elkins College with a career in pharmacy.
VALEDICTORIAN CYNTHIA WILDFIRE (pictured left) - Cynthia is the daughter of Tom and Mary Wildfire of Minnora. She was recently named a National Merit Finalist and received the Robert C. Byrd Scholarship. She attended the Governor's Honors Academy, was a Promise Scholarship representative and on the honor roll.
Cynthia is co-founder and president of the Young Liberals Club, president of Mu Alpha Theta, a member of National Honor Society and cross country. She has been involved with Adopt-a-Highway and elementary school read-alouds.
Cynthia will attend Amherst College in Massachusetts majoring in political science pursuing a career in law.
SALUTATORIAN ELI T. WALKER - Eli is the son of Vernon and Kathy Walker of Big Bend. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Future Farmers of America, Envirothon, SCORES, 4-H, and church youth group. He attended Know Your State Government Day, was named Who's Who Among High School Students, received USAA National Honor Student Award, and participated in the math fair.
Eli plans to attend Glenville State College majoring in pre-medicine to become a doctor of radiology.
