Four teens were shot to death early Sunday morning (4:30 a.m.) outside a Huntington home.
The shootings reportedly happened following an after-prom party.
Huntington police say the victims were 18-year-old Edrrick Clark of South Point Ohio; 17-year-old Michael Dillon of Huntington; 16-year-old Megan Poston of Barboursville; and 19- year-old Dante Ward of Huntington.
Three of the teens were dead when Huntington police arrived and the fourth died a short time later at Cabell-Huntington Hospital.
Neighbors and friends told Channel 13 News (Huntington) that Dillon and Poston were returning from a party after attending Huntington High School's prom.
Capt. Steve Hall said he could not comment on where the juveniles were before the slaying. He said it was the first quadruple homicide in Huntington since 1981.
Police officers on the midnight shift worked all morning to collect evidence and control an emotional crowd of more than 100 people at the scene.
They said one woman - apparently the mother of one of the victims - broke through police tape to get to her slain child.
"I don't know how, how do you console a person like that, that's lost a young child," said officer Hall.
One neighbor reported hearing a girl beg for her life. Then there was gunfire.
Police said they will be working around the clock to catch those responsible for the deaths, calling it a "senseless killing."
Huntington police said early Monday morning they have not established a motive for the killings.
In another shooting in nearby Wayne County, witnesses told police that Andrew Scott Perry shot Dennis Isaacs in the back of the head Friday night.
Trooper J.D. Lucas of the Wayne State Police Detachment said Saturday that the shooting took place about 8 p.m. Friday in a mobile home on Big Branch Road outside the town of Wayne.
The witnesses said the incident was part of an ongoing dispute between neighbors. Isaacs, 31, was from Wayne. Perry, 32, is from Dunlow.
Police said Perry is accused of shooting Issacs in the back of the head with a 40-caliber gun. Perry then fled the scene, but later called police and offered to surrender.
Lucas said Perry has been charged with first-degree murder, and he is in the Western Regional Jail.
