| Irene Metz Wayne, 82, of Spencer, formerly of Calhoun, died May 11, 2005, at Roane General Hospital, Spencer.
She was born September 17, 1922 in Calhoun, daughter of the late Martin and Maude Boone Metz. She was retired from Kellwood Company, was a member of Roane General Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and attended Slate Methodist Church.
She is survived by a sister, Inez Carr of Mt. Zion; two brothers, Martin Metz, Jr. of Orma and Frank Metz of Chloe; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Greeley Wayne in 1991; sisters, Gertrude Perkins, Pauline Farrar, Emma Siers and Anna Longfellow; three brothers, Bruce, Clell and Thurl Metz.
Services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, May 14 at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer with Reverends Danny Whited and John Lowe officiating. Burial will be in the Eventide Cemetery.
Visitation 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
