William B. Starkey, 79, of Grantsville, West Virginia, passed away April 29, 2005 at Eagle Point Health Care Center, Parkersburg.
Born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Tillman and Pansy Trippett Starkey. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII. He retired from E. I. DuPont Company of Parkersburg and was a former construction worker. He was a member of the Knotts Memorial United methodist Church of Grantsville.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Starkey and one son, Joseph Starkey of Bellville; a step-daughter Hope Phillips of Mineral Wells; 3 step-sons, George Hannah of New Mexico, Edwin Hannah of Parkersburg and Frederick Hannah of New Market, Virginia; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Starkey; a daughter, Joyce Ann Starkey; and a sister, Vivian Manson.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, May 2 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Reverends Mary Zimmer and Carroll McCauley will officiate. Interment will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery, Grantsville.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. |
