Fern Gainer Stutler, 93, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg.
She was born November 29, 1911 a daughter of the late Okey and Dottie F. Cooper Gainer. She was a Methodist by faith. She lived her early life in Gilmer County and graduated from Tanner High School in 1933. She was a charter member of Tanner Pythian Sisters Temple # 68.
She later lived near Cleveland, Ohio and worked for the May and Sears & Roebuck Companies. She retired in 1974 after 10 years employment with B.L. Marble Furniture Corp. in Bedford, Ohio.
She is survived by one sister, Eloise Byrd of Cox's Mills; three granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; five great-grandsons; sister-in-law, Elah Gainer Roberts; several nieces and nephews and her caregiver of 25 years, Caroline Cunningham.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Hubert, Hale and Holly E. Gainer; one sister, Fonda Drake; sons, Kennard and Donald Stutler and granddaughter, Yvonne Stutler Montagno.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Rev. Lorous Roberts will officiate. Interment will be in the Cooper Cemetery at Tanner, WV.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of the services.
