Russell G. Shaffer, 68, of Chloe, West Virginia, passed away April 22, 2005 at Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston.
Born in Calhoun County, he was a son of Mrs. Halcie Metheney Shaffer of Chloe and the late Homer Shaffer. He was a US Army Veteran and was retired from Ford Motor Company of Brookpark, Ohio. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed Bluegrass music.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his companion of 25 years, Betty Brumfield and 2 sons, Russell Shaffer, Jr. of Rogers, Arkansas and Michael Shaffer of Conway, Arkansas; a daughter, Teresa Sullivan of Texarkana, Arkansas; 2 brothers, Roy Shaffer of Chloe and Tom Shaffer of Canton, Ohio; and 6 grandchildren.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Mitchell and Melvin Shaffer.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 26 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Rev. Darrell Mollohan will officiate. Interment will be in the Metheney Cemetery at Chloe.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. |
