Governor Manchin has approved a $3.1 billion dollar general revenue budget passed by the Legislature last week.
But he did use his line-item veto power to cut $8 million in pet projects, including a new State Police barracks for Calhoun County.
He removed sections that earmarked money for more than 40 projects around the state.
Those projects included a poison control hot line in Charleston, the Potomac Eagle Railroad and the West Virginia University rifle team.
The new budget takes effect July 1.
