Spring wild turkey season opens Monday and runs through May 21.
Turkey hunters will take to the Calhoun woods in search of the big gobbler.
The DNR expects the gobbler kill to be about the same as last year, 10,000 to 13,500 harvested.
Turkeys can be shot one-half hour before sunrise and ends at 1 p.m., meaning hunters must be out of the woods by 1 o'clock in the afternoon.
The spring gobbler season allows two bearded birds.
The birds must be checked in at an official checking station.
