The nursing program at Glenville State College has
expanded to include a RN to BSN degree for registered nurses. The program,
which is a joint offering between GSC and the West Virginia University
School of Nursing, is designed to provide working registered nurses the
opportunity to earn their BSN degree.
"This is a wonderful opportunity for nurses with an associate degree to
pursue a baccalaureate degree and to increase their career options," stated
Theresa Cowan, Chair of the GSC Division of Science and Mathematics and
Coordinator of the GSC/WVU Joint Nursing Program.
Prospective students with an associate degree in nursing are awarded 50
credits for degree work completed. Additional non-nursing prerequisite
courses could be required and may be taken at GSC.
Once the student is
accepted into the RN to BSN program at GSC, all of the required nursing
courses will be offered online by GSC nursing faculty. GSC faculty will also
be available for on-campus assistance.
GSC is currently accepting applications for the fall 2005 class. All
non-nursing prerequisites must be completed before students are accepted
into the program.
Prospective BSN students are encouraged to call
304-462-7361 ext. 7301 for more information.
