Boys Game Summary: With the score tied at 19-19 early, the Buckeys used a 13-0 run to build a 32-19 advantage. The Mountaineers answered with a 16-0 run, hitting 5 3-pointers with two coming from Paden City's Cory Hammel. Warren's Carson Leach hit a 3-pointer at the end of the first half to cut the Buckey deficit to 10, 49-59.
A 9-0 lead early in the 2nd half cut the deficit to 61-58. Morgan's Brian Southall scored 6 in the spurt. The game remained close the rest of the way.
The Mountainers stretched the lead to 104-96 after a third chance shot opportunity for Parkersburg's Sean Michael, but the Buckey's responded with an 8-0 run to tie the game at 104 with 2:49 remaining. Federal Hocking's Ian Butcher hit a 3-pointer followed by a trey from Marietta's Ben Howlett and a lay-in by Frontier's Daun Lutes.
The Mountaineers were able to surge ahead, 108-104, after Sean Michael scored off of consecutive Buckeye turnovers.
Girls Game Summary: Ohio took an early 4-0 lead, but the Mountaineers responded with a 15-0 run to lead 15-4 at the 15:41 mark. The Buckeys responded with 8 straight to cut the deficit to 15-12. West Virginia would pulled ahead twice by 11 in the first half, but the Buckeyes responded each time with runs of their own. The first cut the deficit to 25-22 at 5:52 thanks to back-to-back treys by Warren's Lacey Holbert and Belpre's Whitney Blackburn. The other ended the scoring in the 2nd half at 36-29 after a trey by River's Shanna Swan.
West Virginia opened the 2nd half with a 13-4 run, sparked by six from South's Jill Stephens and five from Magnolia's Katie Blatt. The Buckeys responded with a 10-0 run started by another Blackburn trey and seven points from the Warren combo of Lacey Baumgard and Miranda Tompkins. West Virginia led 49-43 with 11:48 remaining.
The Mountaineers answered with a 17-0 run and never were threatened again.
