Rubert W. Stump, 80, of Glenville, W.Va., passed away March 31, 2005, at United Hospital Center, Clarksburg.
Born in Morgantown, W.Va., he was a son of the late Sull and Treacy Wilson Stump. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was the owner of Stump Ford Inc. dealership in Glenville for 20 years. In recent years, he enjoyed woodworking and was noted for his beautiful porch swings. Rubert loved his children, grandchildren, woodworking and the family farm near Stumptown.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Reece Stump; two daughters, Deborah Butner and her husband, Dean, and Jane Edmonds and her husband, Jim, all of Winston-Salem, N.C.; grandsons, Mark Stiller and Kim, Brian Edmonds and Andrew Edmonds, all of Winston-Salem; great-granddaughter, Peyton Reece Stiller of Winston-Salem; and a sister-in-law, Bernice Stump of Stumptown.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with the Rev. Robert Nicholas officiating. Interment will be in the Sand Ridge Cemetery at Sand Ridge. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
