Roy E. Connolly Sr., 80, of Davisville, W.Va., formerly of Calhoun, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at his residence.
He was born June 7, 1924, a son of the late Francis Marion and Roxie Blosser Connolly. Mr. Connolly retired from Atlas Steel and was a member of the Davisville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by a stepdaughter, Ann Cunningham of Parkersburg; a son, Roy E. Connolly Jr. and his wife, Phyllis, of Davisville; two daughters, Wilda Davis of Sanford, Fla., and Janet L. Lamp of Waverly; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Frankie Mowrey of Creston, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hazel M. Whytsell Connolly; one stepson, Ernest E. Kemmer; one brother, Paul Connolly; eight sisters, Mabel Bennett, Flora Stalnaker, Grace Nichols, Dorothy Starcher, Virginia Musser, Hazel Fore, Marie Cruise and Francie Connolly; two half brothers, Ralph and Jack Connolly; and two half sisters, Elva Duskey and Nell DeWeese.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street, south Parkersburg, with the Rev. David Cumpston officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2-4 and 5-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
