The Glenville State College Concert Choir and Chamber Singers will present their annual Spring concert on Tuesday, April 19, at 7 p.m. Please note that this will be an hour earlier than in past years. The free concert will be held in the Fine Arts Center.
Featured selections this year will be a medley of songs from the Broadway play, Jekyll & Hyde, and the premiere performance of
Requiem in C Minor written by the Choir director, Charles Miller.
This requiem is subtitled: A celebration of life dedicated to all who have fallen in the pursuit of peace. The featured number for the Chamber Singers will be Rhapsody In Rhythm which includes several songs by George and Ira Gershwin.
Also featured on the program will be harpist, Stephen Schemel, who will accompany the Choir on two selections. Stephen
is an Art student at the Glenville State and has been enrolled in Music Theory classes as well.
Please come early and visit the Fine Arts Gallery before the concert. On exhibit will be Kristen Blake's Senior Art Show. Enjoy the full Fine Arts experience.
Immediately following the concert there will be a reception in the lobby of the Fine Arts Building. The Gallery will remain open all through the evening.
Admission is free and the public is cordially invited.
