The Pettry house on Yellow Creek Road was heavily damaged late Sunday night, after a fire started in the attic.
Grantsville firemen said there were indications the fire was related to an electrical short.
Kimberly Pettry told firemen that insulation had recently been sprayed in the attic.
The Grantsville VFD responded to the scene at 10:30 p.m. with four trucks.
The house is a short distance up Yellow Creek off Rt. 16 at Big Bend.
