Geraldine Marie Bland Starcher, 95, of Parkersburg, formerly of Calhoun died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg.
She was born in Bull River, W.Va., a daughter of the late Harvey and Martha Jane Ball Bland. She was the former owner and operator of Starchers Grocery Store and Service Station in Pleasant Hill, W.Va., and was a member of the Chapel Baptist Church in Nobe, W.Va.
She is survived by four daughters, Janet Ramona Holliday and husband, John, of Newark, Ohio, Phyllis L. Fetty and husband, Patrick, of Sweet Springs, W.Va., Roberta R. McCoy and husband, Jim, of Smithville, W.Va., and Beverly Ann Prince and husband, Bill, of Smithville; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Alton Starcher; a daughter, Carolyn J. Starcher; a grandson, James C. McCoy; two brothers; and one sister.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street, south Parkersburg, with the Rev. Gene Hutton officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Nobe. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
