Friday night was a ice covered and treacherous night for county highways, with numerous cars stuck on Jackson Hill at Five Forks and accidents all over the county.
The Department of Highways quickly got out and emergency services did their job in the line of duty.
THANKS
Dear Editor,
Last night (Jan. 29) my car got stranded on Jackson Hill due to the ice on the hill.
I wanted to take the opportunity to thank a few people who offered assistance. First, a big thank you to Mike Metz for opening his store to allow my family to stay dry and warm until the road conditions improved enough to move our car.
We truly appreciate it Mike. Thanks also to Alan Dawson for jumping my car when the battery died while sitting on the hill, and to Trooper Doug Starcher. Everyone's assistance is greatly appreciated.
