Two people were injured Sunday morning when their auto went out of control on Rt. 16 near the intersection of Vaughan Road, struck a tree and landed in a yard.
The female driver was ejected from the car. Both she and a male passenger were taken to Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center shortly after the 9 a.m. accident.
The auto was described as a total loss.
An eyewitness said the vehicle was traveling south when it spun out of control coming down a small hill, struck a tree and traveled several feet further into a yard. The vehicle likely hit a patch of black ice.
Calhoun EMS, Minnie Hamilton Health Care and the Grantsville VFD responded to the accident.
Sheriff Carl Ballengee is investigating.
The accident was part of a several incidents which began Saturday night, sending at least two other people to the hospital in separate roll-overs.
The victim of a roll-over on Hog Knob Hill was transferred to WVU Medical Center reportedly suffering from a "serious" neck injury.
Another rollover on icy Rt. 16 near the Rt. 16-33/119 intersection sent Dawn Fox, wife of Conservation Officer Tom Fox, to Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center for evaluation.
