Orval Glen Dye, 90, of Grantsville, West Virginia, died Sunday, January 23, 2005 in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg.
He was a son of the late Emett and Stella Cunningham Dye of Big Springs. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII having served in the South Pacific and European Theaters. He was awarded the Purple Heart in 1945 in France. He was retired from the Calhoun County Board of Education after 10 years service as a bus driver. He attended the Spruce Hollow Community Church for 37 years and Victory Baptist Church for the past few years.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Dye and one son, Denzil Dye and his wife Vivian of Mt. Zion; one daughter, Wanda Bryan and her husband Alex of Glenwood; 4 grandchildren, Douglas Dye, David Dye, Chandra Bolland and Joanna George; 3 step grandchildren, Eric, Alex, II and Abigail Bryan; 6 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Doil, Kenneth and Everett Dye and 1 sister, Pearl Pierson.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 26 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Rev. Mike Worf and Rev. Alfred Hickman will officiate. Interment will be in the Big Springs Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
