The water level on the Ohio River is down. Really down.

The latest winter storm is hampering efforts to remove four sunken coal barges that have halted traffic on a section of the Ohio River.

The barges are blocking water control gates at the Belleville Lock and Dam, about 16 miles downstream from Parkersburg. Barge traffic has come to a halt on a 42-mile section above Belleville. Gates are still jammed open.
