Janet Lee Underwood, 50, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Saturday, January 1, 2005, at Roane General Hospital after a long illness.
She was born April 11, 1954, in Detroit, MI, a daughter of Wanda Szajna Walters of Wyandotte, MI, and the late Thomas Jefferson Walters. She was an employee of the Roane County Board of Education and a member of the First Baptist Church of Spencer.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, John Underwood; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Bryan Fisher of Cottageville, WV; sons and daughter-in-law, John Lester Underwood, Jr., of Detroit, MI, Thomas Andrew and Roxann Underwood of Monroe, MI, and Delbert James Underwood of Spencer; brother, Steve Thomas Walters of Salem, MI; sisters, Pamela Jean Lysoborski and Theresa Sue Barrett, both of Dearborn, MI, and Elizabeth Marie Walters of Detroit; four grandchildren, Zachary Underwood, Cameron Underwood, Rachel Fisher and Joel Fisher.
A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, January 5 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Spencer with Pastor Michael F. "Mike" King officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover, WV.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, and at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
