BACF BASKETBALL CLASSIC SLATED FOR APRIL - Calhoun Will Participate

The 4th annual Battle Against Cystic Fibrosis All-Star Basketball Classic will be Friday night, April 1, 2005 at Parkersburg South High School. The game pits high school seniors from Ohio and West Virginia in both girls and boys all-star basketball games. The girls game will start at 6 p.m. with the boys game following at 8 p.m.

Coaches for the 2005 games will be: Ohio Girls Head Coach, Rick Edwards (Eastern Local); Ohio Girls Assistant Coach, Rick Isaly (River); West Virginia Girls Head Coach, Scott Stephens (Parkersburg South); West Virginia Girls Assistant Coach, Kent Yoho (Tyler Consolidated); Ohio Boys Head Coach, Tom Evans (Morgan County); Ohio Boys Assistant Coach, Joe Butcher (Federal Hocking); West Virginia Boys Head Coach, Clyde Brewer (Parkersburg); West Virginia Boys Assistant Coach, Fred King (Paden City).

All proceeds from the event are turned over to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to help battle for a cure. Cystic fibrosis is an inherited disease afflicting infants and children of both sexes. CF affects over 30,000 people in the United States and almost all who have it eventually die of lung disease.

Participating Ohio schools are: Beallsville, Belpre, Caldwell, Eastern Local, Federal Hocking, Fort Frye, Frontier, Marietta, Meigs County, Morgan County, Monroe Central, River, Shenandoah, Warren Local, and Waterford.

Participating West Virginia schools are: Calhoun County, Doddridge County, Magnolia, Paden City, Parkersburg, Parkersburg Catholic, Parkersburg South, Ravenswood, Ripley, Ritchie County, St. Marys, Tyler Consolidated, Williamstown, and Wirt County.
