Charleston police were looking for a shooter last night after 35-year-old Ernest White was shot just outside the busy Charleston Town Center shopping mall.
The mall was crowded with Christmas shoppers at 4:30 p.m. Sunday when White staggered into the center to ask for help.
White was walking across a busy street to the mall from Charleston's upscale Mariott Hotel.
He was shot once in the back with a small-caliber weapon, police said.
He was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center's General Division, his condition unknown.
Police are looking for a black Monte Carlo which could be connected to the shooting.
