The fund raising committee for the new athletic complex at the Mt. Zion
campus, voted unanimously last week to return to the old Wayne Underwood
Field in Grantsville. "We don't feel the new facilities can be ready for football
season," said Kelly Houchin, President of the Calhoun County Athletic
Complex Committee. "The time frames are not good," she said. "There are
several problems.
The recommendation will be presented to the school board meeting on June
4th. "The snack bar and rest rooms cannot be roofed until August,"
according to Ways and Means Chairperson, Martha Haymaker.
"We really want things to be workable and first class when the field is
opened," said Haymaker.
Houchin said this is more of a time problem, although fund-raising has
slowed.
The next CCACC meeting is scheduled for May 21.
