Three area fire departments responded to a rapidly spreading forest fire Tuesday evening on Mud Fork near Stinson.
It was the first forest fire of the fall season, following the falling of leaves and a short dry spell. Rain showers did cross much of the area Tuesday night.
Reports said the fire burned over several acres of a steep hillside before it was brought under control.
The Upper West Fork, Arnoldsburg and Big Otter Volunteer Fire Departments responded.
