Rex Ward, 92 of Grantsville, West Virginia, passed away October 19, 2004 at his home.
Born in Calhoun County, he was a son of the late Jesse and Effa May Stevens Ward.
He was retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways and was a well known area farmer. He was a former president of the Calhoun County Farm Bureau and was a former Farmer of the Year.
He was a member of the St. Paul and the Mt. Zion United Methodist Churches.
Surviving are two sons, Randall K. Martin of Elizabeth and Dale B. Martin of Grantsville; a daughter, Delana Grapes of Galax, Virginia; 2 sisters, Irene Barr and Madge Hughes both of Wadsworth, Ohio; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Ward and one brother, Max Ward.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, October 22 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Rev. Rick Swearingen will officiate. Interment will be in the St. Paul Cemetery near Grantsville.
