A controversial film "UNCOVERED: THE WAR ON IRAQ" will be shown in Spencer next week as
part of the Spencer FilmFest's ongoing series of outstanding documentary
movies.
In it, filmmaker Robert Greenwald chronicles the Bush Administration's
determined quest to invade Iraq following the events of September 11, 2001.
The film deconstructs the administration's case for war through interviews
with U.S intelligence and defense officials, foreign service experts, and
U.N. weapons inspectors - including a former CIA director, a former
ambassador to Saudi Arabia and even President's Bush's Secretary of the
Army.
Their analysis and conclusions are sobering, and often disturbing,
regardless of one's political affiliations.
"UNCOVERED: THE WAR ON IRAQ" is being shown at the Committee On Aging Building
in Spencer on Thursday evening, October 28th at 7 p.m. The movie opened in
theaters nationwide earlier this month. Admission is free and free
refreshments will be served.
The FilmFest is presented by the Concerned Citizens Coalition of
Roane-Calhoun Counties and the Roane-Calhoun Peace Coalition. In coming
months, the FilmFest will present documentaries on consumerism, our food
supply, the environment and other aspects of peaceful and positive change in
our world.
