Etta Macil Cottrell, 69 of Shock, Gilmer County, died May 6th in St. Joseph Hospital,
Parkersburg.
Born in Calhoun County, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Clara Cottrell Rogers. She
was a member of the Frozen Run Baptist Church near Shock and was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Russell Cottrell and four sons and daughters in law, Calvin and
Ruby Cottrell of Parkersburg, Troy and Brenda Cottrell of Shock, Bobby and Rose Cottrell of
Stumptown and Randall and Angela Cottrell of Spencer. Five sisters, Glenna Thomas, Shirley
Collins and Erma Collins all of Virginia, Pauline George of Tennessee and Maxine McCumbers
of Nicut. Five brothers, Jim Rogers of Grantsville, Virgil Rogers of North Carolina, Robert
Rogers and Bacil Rogers both of Ohio and Nelson Rogers of Shock.
Mrs. Cottrell is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, two sisters and a brother.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Elder
Charles Fisher will officiate. Interment will be in the Cottrell Cemetery, Frozen Run near Nicut.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. |
