Clint Hartshorn, whose name is still on the fall ballot, has given reasons for his decision in a statement issued to the media.

"I, Clint Hartshorn an Independent candidate on the ballot for the November election for Sheriff, do hereby announce my withdrawal from the election."

Recently I have obtained employment and still have college classes that I need to finish. Therefore, preventing me from giving 100% to the campaign."
