In Hur's glory days, there was a store and lodge hall on the property, and nearby the Sturm and McCoy Stores and the Hur Telephone Company.
The occasion was Phyllis Kerby's birthday, but it was sorta like an Octoberfest, with autumn decor, lots of hot dogs and plenty of sweets.
