| Kirby K. Carper, 71, of Spencer, died Tuesday, September 28, 2004, in the CAMC - General Hospital, Charleston.
Mr. Carper was born February 8, 1933, on Johnson Creek, the son of the late Earl K. and Trudice Schoolcraft Carper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
He was the retired owner and operator of Carper's Wrecker Service with 25 years of service. He also attended the Good Hope Baptist Church, Reedy.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Carper of Spencer; son, Jerry Carper of Spencer; daughter, Stephanie Tolley of Spencer; stepsons, Michael Price of Murrells Inlet, SC and Edward Price of Spencer; stepdaughters, Becky Carpenter of Spencer and Patty Schoolcraft of Gandeeville; sisters, Tiny Purcell of Pennsylvania, Betty Winland of Lancaster, OH and Patsy Satterfield of Cairo; four grandchildren, one great grandchild, six step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, October 2 at 2:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor John Price and Rev. Hillard Bryant officiating. Burial will be in the Looney Cemetery, Walton.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, October 1.
