The sun came out over Sunny Cal Saturday, making it difficult to believe a few miles to the west is major flooding in the Ohio River Valley.
Calhoun and regional counties escaped serious problems, with the area being between the "bands of weather" created by Ivan.
Major flooding continued yesterday along the Ohio River with Marietta-Willamstown taking a major hit, although there is flooding outside of Parkersburg's flood walls.
Thousands of homes were affected by rain-swollen creeks, the resulting flooding on the Ohio, or both.
Much of Marietta-Williamstown's low-lying areas have been under water.

Flooding in Ravenswood-Murraysville section
The Ohio River crested at 5 a.m. yesterday at 45.3 at Wheeling, that's 9.3 feet above flood stage. It crested in Moundsville 10 feet above flood stage.
The river crested yesterday afternoon in Parkersburg at 44 feet, almost 8 eight feet above flood stage.
Thousands of homes were affected by rain-swollen creeks, the resulting flooding on the Ohio, or both.
The State Police pulled the body of Mark Allen Ramey from a flooded creek in Lincoln County Saturday.
Power had been restored by Sunday to most of the estimated 67,000 West Virginia residents left in the dark. The weather had also briefly knocked out phone and water service to some areas.
Gov. Bob Wise signed the aid application for Brooke, Hancock, Marshall, Ohio, Pleasants, Tyler, Wetzel and Wirt counties. Wise activated 850 National Guard troops, most being sent to the Northern Panhandle.
